We are so proud to see one of the first apps/ideas we built going over 100 000 downloads on the Google Play Store. This app is of course Factory Shops SA.
The app was developed to help South Africans save money.
It continues to do so as it has made it easy to locate your nearest Factory Shop and navigate to it.
The app has also been well received by the owners of the Factory Shops themselves. They can now get exposure to over 100 000 people by paying a small fee of R120 per month. Return on investment is massive when Factory Shops sign up to be in the app. It is a no brainer. R4 per day to get more feet through the door? Yes, please.
This concept is something we call “Directory Apps as a Business”. The app packages information neatly and elegantly which solves a problem for the end user. The app then gains a valuable audience which makes it attractive for shop owners to pay to be listed in the app.
In South Africa there are still many opportunities for these types of apps, to run them as businesses and receive semi-passive income.
