App Development Ninjas was recently featured on Cape Talk when Jonathan was interviewed by Kieno Kammies regarding the new Seafari app published in April 2017.
The app is a tool that allows people to follow latest sightings of marine mammals in Southern and Eastern African waters. It also allows citizen scientists to contribute to research and conservation efforts by allowing them to submit their sightings which expands knowledge about species distribution and migration patterns.
The app has a particular focus on the threatened Dugong along the Eastern African coastline and also allows local communities to report sightings in Portuguese and Swahili.
